The Colorado State Patrol says 21-year-old Taya Pettit of Greeley was trying to make a left turn in her blue 1987 Nissan Maxima from 18th Street onto eastbound CO 34 around 7:25 a.m.

Troopers say while Pettit was making the turn, she crashed head-on into a gold 2004 Dodge Caravan, driven by 48-year-old Camille M. Vannoy of Gill, on westbound CO 34. The collision sent the Dodge into oncoming traffic where it collided with a 2001 Ford Escape, driven by 37-year-old Keith A. Yoder of Greeley.

Vannoy died in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the Northern Colorado Medical Center, according to troopers.

Two children in the Dodge with Vannoy were injured as well. Twelve-year-old Cicali Vannoy suffered minor injuries and 8-year-old Hayley Vannoy suffered serious injuries. They were taken to Norther Colorado Medical Center.

Yoder was taken to the same hospital with serious injuries.

Pettit sustained minor injuries. It wasn't immediately clear if she had to go to a hospital.
