Accident involving police car stalls airport traffic

DENVER - An accident involving a Denver Police car had traffic on in-bound Pena Boulevard backed up towards I-70 Thursday afternoon.

It happened around 12:17 p.m. near the old toll plaza and 45 minute wait area approaching Denver International Airport.

Police say an officer was responding to a two car accident when another car rear-ended his parked cruiser.

No one was hurt in either accident.

The accident closed one lane of Pena Boulevard closed.

The lane re-opened around 2 p.m.

Erica Gingerich, a spokeswoman for DIA, says white-out conditions at times made clearing the accident difficult.
