Woman dies after double stabbing in apartment complex

LITTLETON - A woman is dead Sunday following an early morning stabbing at an apartment complex in Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's office says deputies are investigating a double stabbing that happened around 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the 9000 block of West Cross Drive at The Dakotas at Governor's Ranch.

The sheriff's department says the woman who died was found in an apartment by deputies. Deputies and paramedics from West Metro Fire Department were able to obtain life signs at the scene but after the woman was taken the hospital she died.

A man was also found inside the apartment. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and will be interviewed by deputies.

The sheriff's office says it has no indication that another person was involved in the stabbing. They are working with neighbors and relatives to determine exactly what happened.

No additional information has been released. The Jefferson County Coroner will release the cause of death and identities.
