Man charged for allegedly paying mom for sex with teen daughter

DENVER - A man has been formally charged with repeated sexual assaults on a teenage girl after the girl's mother allegedly pimped her daughter for money.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey formally filed the charges against 48-year-old Mark Mathias on Monday. Mathias faces counts of soliciting for child prostitution, sexual assault on a child and sexual assault on a child - pattern of abuse.

According to the court filing, the district attorney alleges Mathias sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl from June 2008 until March 2009.

The victim's mother allegedly collected money for the assaults and allowed them to occur. She was charged earlier with pimping of a child and pandering of a child. She's in the Denver County Jail with a $200,000 bond.

Mathias is also in custody at the Denver County Jail. His bond was set at $100,000.

He's due in court on Wednesday.
