The Aurora Fire Department says the fire broke out on North Xanadu near East Colfax Avenue and Interstate 225.

Battalion Chief Mark Turley says the 60-year-old woman suffered severe burns to her face, arms and chest. Medics on scene said she was in critical condition. She was taken a nearby hospital and treated for her burns. Her name was not released.

When the oxygen tanks started exploding, it blew out the back of the house.

Investigators believe the fire started in a back bedroom.

Authorities say the house is a total loss.

No firefighters were injured when the tanks began exploding.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
