The Colorado State Patrol says Trooper Randy White, a 24-year veteran, was taken to a local hospital after the accident Friday night.

Troopers say White suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries. The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports that the trooper suffered a dislocated shoulder and a closed head injury.

The State Patrol says the driver of the truck, 47-year-old Tracy Conklin of Grand Junction, was questioned after the accident but investigators don't suspect that alcohol or drugs were involved.

Troopers continue to investigate.
