Hospital locked down after gunman reported in waiting room

LAFAYETTE - A hospital was locked down briefly on Tuesday after a woman in a waiting room handed a medical technician a note that said the man she was with had a gun and she was scared.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. at the Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center, located at 200 Exempla Circle.

Lafayette Police reportedly contained the situation and are talking with a 59-year-old man. It was unclear if an arrest had been made.

The lockdown was lifted by 11:30 a.m.

No one was injured in the incident.
