The Eagle County Regional Airport issued a closure after a military aircraft's nose gear collapsed upon landing around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday

Five people were aboard the aircraft at the time, but none were injured.

Airport officials say the aircraft, which belonged to the Coast Guard, slid about 1,000 feet on the runway before coming to a stop.

The cause of the crash wasn't immediately known.

The airport reopened Wednesday morning, but the first scheduled departure of United Express 7190 was cancelled.
