Investigators: Man accused of sex assault may have other alleged victims
|
JEFFERSON COUNTY - Sheriff's investigators say he got to know a mother and her teenage boys at an Aurora church. Now there's an arrest warrant out for him after one of the boys came forward with allegations of sexual assault. ![]() The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says the arrest warrant against 62-year-old James Bird is for four counts of sexual assault on a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Investigators say he's also accused of providing drugs and alochol to his alleged victims. Investigators say he is currently traveling abroad. They say during execution of a search warrant earlier this month, investigators found evidence giving them reason to believe there may be other possible victims who have yet to come forward. Bird has lived in Douglas County, Aurora and Jefferson County. Investigators say he has spent a large portion of his adult life engaging in a variety of interests and activities that involve juvenile boys. Anyone with information regarding James Bird is urged to contact Investigator Matt Clark at 303-271-5640. (Copyright KUSA*TV, All Rights Reserved)
