Car hits train

COMMERCE CITY - Police say a woman trying to avoid hitting another car swerved off the road and hit a train early Sunday morning.

It happened around 3:46 a.m. Sunday at the 6800 block of Highway 2.

Investigators say 32-year-old Haly Mitchell was northbound on Highway 2 when another vehicle swerved into her lane. Police say Mitchell attempted to miss the vehicle, swerved off the road and collided with a southbound train.

Investigators say Mitchell was not hurt in the accident

The Commerce City Police Department is investigating.
