Light snow showers moved through the metro area along a cold front starting at 5 a.m. Monday morning. It created more of a problem for commuters south of the city near Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock and Elizabeth. Some 9NEWS viewers were reporting 1 to 3 inches of snow on the ground.

Meanwhile in the High Country, WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES remain in effect until midnight for most areas in the central and northern mountains. Light snow showers will continue in mountain locations like the Continental Divide, Vail, Aspen and Snowmass. Storm totals will range from 4 to 9 inches by Monday night.

Denver will remain under periods of sunshine and cloud cover for the rest of Monday. Temperatures will be cool behind the front, only climbing to the upper 30s and low 40s.

However for the rest of the week, high pressure will settle back in. We'll have dry conditions through Friday with highs climbing back into the 50s by Thanksgiving day.
