Lawmakers to honor family of slain Navy SEAL

DENVER (AP) – Wednesday is military appreciation day at the state Capitol. Lawmakers who served in the military are being asked to dust off their old uniforms and wear them.

They will also honor Navy SEAL Danny Dietz, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005.

He was killed during what the military described as a counter-terrorism operation.

Dietz's family will meet with Governor Ritter before the ceremonies begin in the House Wednesday morning. Lawmakers will consider a resolution honoring those who serve in the military.
