Police searching for man who shot at town character

SILVERTHORNE - Police are searching for a man in his early twenties following a shooting involving a well known town personality. ![]() Police say Milton Kapner, or Brother Nathaniel, was standing at the intersection of Wildernest and Blue River when the driver of a tan SUV pulled up next to him and pointed a hand gun. The driver of vehicle then drove away, according to police, only to return five minutes later and fire three shots at Kapner, hitting him in the face. Police believe the shots fired were soft air pellets and details about injuries were not released. Kapner is known by many in the Silverthorne area as Brother Nathaniel, as he spends many of his days spreading the good word and waving an American Flag. Following the shooting, Kapner followed the SUV on foot to the nearby Acorn gas station. The driver of the vehicle saw Kapner and quickly drove away. Police say the vehicle was occupied by five men. Kapner was able to give a description of the driver to police. As a result they have released the composite sketch listed to the left and the following details. The driver is described as a white male in his early 20s with blonde hair. He was last seen wearing ski clothing.
