Teen who lost legs in accident released from hospital
|
DENVER - One of the two teens who lost his legs in an accident last month was released from the hospital on Wednesday. ![]() Seventeen-year-old Tyler Carron left Denver Health Medical Center and said goodbye to his care providers. “I’m excited to be going home, but disappointed that Nikko (Landeros) isn't yet able to come with me. I'm looking forward to rehab, and am anxious to return to my normal life with my family and friends,” said Carron in a statement. “I would like to thank everyone who has been so supportive of Nikko and me. We truly appreciate everything everyone has done for us.” Landeros, 17, is in fair condition at the hospital. The two boys were changing a tire January 15th in Larimer County when they were hit by 17-year old classmate Michelle Berra's SUV. Due to their injuries, the two teens had both of their legs amputated. “As we've said before, we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for Tyler and Nikko. The entire community has been amazing. We would like to thank everyone who has helped us through this difficult time,” said Bruce Carron, Tyler’s father, in a statement. “We are looking forward to getting Tyler home where he can continue to recuperate and receive rehabilitation so that he can return to school and his friends as soon as possible,” said Bruce Carron, in his statement. “We would like to ask that everyone please respect our privacy, and allow Tyler and our family to focus on getting Tyler well.” (Copyright KUSA*TV, All Rights Reserved.)
