Driver crashes through fence, into worker

CENTENNIAL – A landscape worker was in critical condition on Wednesday night after a car plowed through a fence into the backyard where he was working.

The crash briefly closed South University Boulevard at East Easter Avenue in Centennial on Wednesday afternoon.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department says the driver passed out just before his vehicle knocked over a traffic signal pole, burst through the fence, ran over the worker and crashed into a townhome.

The driver was also taken to the hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Deputies believe a medical condition caused him to pass out.

The names of the victims were not released.
