Report: Denver suburb ranks in top-25 safest U.S. cities
|
DETROIT (AP) - Centennial, Colo., is ranked among the top 25 safest U.S. cities, according to a private research group's controversial analysis. ![]() Centennial ranked 20th among the safest cities with at least 75,000 residents in a report published by a unit of Congressional Quarterly Inc. Detroit was listed as the nation's most dangerous city, while Mission Viejo, California, was listed safest. The report looked at 378 cities based on per-capita rates for homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and auto theft. However, critics complain the report doesn't put the crime information in the right context. The FBI criticized the report's use of its statistics. (Copyright Associated Press, All Rights Reserved)
