You're never too old to be a pinball wizard
|
LYONS - Sometimes it's better not to be young again. ![]() You're never too old to be a pinball wizard At least that's what the owners of Colorado's largest public collection of pinball machines say when it comes to playing their favorite games. "Kids can play, but it's definitely a game of skill – you can influence how the game goes," said Carole Carroll, co-owner of Lyons Classic Pinball located at 339-A Main Street in Lyons. "Do the kids like it? When people ask me that question I say, 'Yeah, the kids between 20 and 85," said the arcade's other owner Kevin Carroll. Lyons Classic Pinball is a four-room arcade packed with about 40 games. There are vintage pinball machines from the 60s, but also modern "talking" games. Customers say they appreciate the variety and a chance to do something different. "I'd rather come here and spend 10 bucks than pay 10 bucks for a movie," said Nick Zendejas, a regular customer. The business hosts regular league nights and a monthly pinball tournament. To find out more about these competitions and Lyons Classic Pinball, check out their Web site at www.lyonspinball.com.
