Qwest says service restored after day-long disruption
|
WESTMINSTER - Qwest says it was able to fully restore service to landline telephones in the Westminster area on Tuesday evening. ![]() It is unclear how many customers were affected by the disruption but Qwest says a frozen pipe leaked onto electronic equipment and caused the disruption in service for most of the day. Qwest says service to both Westminster and Federal Heights was restored around 5:20 p.m. While telephone service was down, customers could also not call 911. If people had an emergency, Qwest says they had to either use their cell phones to call 911 or go directly to the Westminster Police station at 9110 Yates Avenue. Phone lines went down around 7:15 a.m. (Copyright KUSA*TV, All Rights Reserved)
