|
LOVELAND - Those who pass by Dixie Daly don't have to ask what her favorite color is. Everyday, there's a touch of pink somewhere on her outfit. ![]() Local woman 'Tickled Pink' to help women in business "I have a passion for pink," she said. She also has a passion for helping female entrepreneurs. As the owner of a remodeling company in Loveland, Daly has experience under her belt. Last year, Daly took that experience and created a foundation called "The Tickled Pink Foundation." The goal of the foundation is to help women grow their businesses. "Women can own a business and we are very successful," she said. To help women improve upon their businesses, the foundation pays for things like marketing and computer classes. The foundation also stresses networking skills. "I feel if you're in front of people, you're going to grow your business," Daly said. Now, don't forget the pink. Daly has thrown the color all over her foundation. In fact, the color helps to fund it. "I decided I was going to make a shirt," she said holding up a pink T-sirt with the words "Tickled Pink" written across the front. That T-shirt soon spawned a line of pink products. Daly sells everything from pink candy bars to pink perfume. Daly has big plans for her products and foundation. She's making to pitches to stores like Target and people like Oprah Winfrey. "Nationally is where I want to go because I feel if I can sell 20,000 of one item over 20 of them, I can help more women quicker," she said. A while back, Annie Johnson took Daly up on her offer to help. Johnson is part owner of a limo service based in Johnstown. Johnson said Daly offered useful business advice, but also threw in encouragement and inspiration. "We wouldn't be in business today if Dixie hadn't taken me under her wing," Johnson said.
