|
JEFFERSON COUNTY - Details about the man arrested after Colorado State Troopers closed down part of Interstate 70 have been released. ![]() The state patrol says Manuel Serrano Jr., 41 of Denver, was arrested after a foot chase and highway closure. At around 2:23 p.m. on Monday, a trooper tried to pull the suspect over for a traffic violation. The driver pulled over to the far left side of the I-70 roadway after hitting a few construction cones, according to state patrol. When the vehicle stopped, the driver got out immediately and fled on foot crossing I-70 near the Lookout Mountain exit. He then went down a steep embankment. Eastbound I-70 had to be closed for about two hours while law enforcement searched the area. They were eventually able to arrest Serrano and take him to the Jefferson County Jail where he was charged with felony habitual traffic offender, misdemeanor eluding, reckless driving, speeding aggressively within a construction zone and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
