The devastating tornadoes left a mess of power lines and poles behind. A number of distribution poles and six major transport lines were destroyed. Distribution poles bring power to homes. Major transport lines bring power from large power stations.

At the height of the outage Xcel said 60,000 customers were without power.

Sunday night, Xcel said about 200 customers were without power, and that those customers were living in homes where it was deemed unsafe to restore power.
