Police officer arrested for stalking

BOULDER COUNTY – Deputies say a Lafayette Police officer was arrested for stalking on Wednesday and is now out on bond.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says it was contacted by Lafayette Police asking deputies to investigate 34-year-old James Stafford.

After the investigation, a warrant was issued for Stafford on charges of stalking.

He turned himself in on Wednesday morning and appeared in court later that afternoon.

He posted a $5,000 bond and was released from custody.
