The South Metro Fire Department says the fire was burning south of Ridgegate Parkway and east of Interstate 25. Twelve units from South Metro Fire responded to the scene.
Firefighters say the fire is now contained after successful mop-up efforts.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but firefighters say downed power lines may have sparked the blaze. Xcel Energy crews and Lone Tree Police also responded to the scene to help.
A nearby dog park was evacuated for a short time as a precaution. No other structures were threatened, according to fire crews.
Firefighters say a helicopter was called in to help fight the blaze.
