Students in the Lakewood video production class got the entire school dancing.
The class organized 2,000 of their peers to create a music video of a popular Katy Perry song. They were able to involve all kinds of students, from the cheerleaders to the debate team. The swim team even showed up for the shoot dressed in their Speedos.
The class organized every aspect of the production themselves. The students spread the word about the production using spreadsheets, email, and social-media platforms. They also coordinated the movement of the camera people and participants in the video.
On Friday, Katy Perry posted on her Facebook saying: "Lakewood High has some FIREWORKS! Go Tigers!" and linked to the soon-to-be-viral YouTube video.
