The Summit County Sheriff's Office says Jay Cornwell, III, of Commerce City was arrested after the altercation on the Summit Stage bus last Thursday.
Investigators say he was arrested around 9 p.m. after he made the comments, exposed himself and hit another passenger.
He faces charges of third-degree assault, bias-motivated crimes and harassment. He is being held on a $2,500 bond.
If convicted of assault and harassment, he could get up to 18 months in jail. If convicted of the bias-motivated crime, he could get up to three years in jail.
