Voters say no to required sick time in Denver

The measure is already losing 35 percent to 64 percent (34,494
yes votes and 62,307 no votes).

Initiative 300 would have required paid sick time for everyone who works in Denver.

Opponents say it would be bad for business in the city, while supporters say it gives more rights to workers who they say cannot afford to stay home when they are sick.

Initiative 300 has been publicly opposed by Gov. John Hickenlooper, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, and the majority of the Denver City Council.
