The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says it happened in at the Conoco store on South Alkire Street near West Bowles Avenue.

Investigators say a man approached a woman with a gun and demanded her purse and car keys. She gave them to him and he got into her 2004 black Audi and started it up.

The car has a manual transmission and the man was not able to get the car into gear.

He then ran from the scene, taking the purse with him. It was described as black and white with a Zebra striped pattern.

The man is described as white, between 22 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall with blue eyes and no facial hair. He was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head.

Anyone who may recognize the man or has any information about the crime is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
