That is most certainly the case for our January winner of the 9Teachers Who Care Award.
Audrey Haley has been helping special needs students grow for more than 30 years at Clear Sky Elementary in Castle Rock.
Haley's students feel loved, and so they're willing to push themselves. In return, Haley and her team never stop the praise. The confidence the kids get in her room helps them when they go back to their homerooms with their peers who are not disabled.
This is Haley's calling. Her compassion rubs off on the students who are supportive of each other.
A mother of one of Haley's students nominated her for the award. She wrote to us, saying how she is forever grateful to her for helping improve her daughter's life and thereby, the lives of everyone in the family.
If you know of a teacher who really is making an impact on the lives of students, please let us know. You can find the nomination form here, http://www.9news.com/life/community/whocare/teachers/default.aspx.
