AURORA - Officers are looking for a man they believe robbed a movie theater on Sunday night with another suspect.
Aurora Police say the two men went into the Aurora Movie Tavern near Hampden Avenue and Tower Road on Sunday night just before 11 p.m. and demanded money from employees in the ticket booth, bar and safe room. Authorities say the men had handguns and left the scene in a sliver Pontiac Grand Am.
Officers found the car a behind a car wash at Mexico Avenue and Buckley Road. The car then moved to a nearby 7-Eleven parking lot, where the passenger in the car bailed and ran from the scene. As the suspect fled, he fired a round from the handgun he was carrying. No one was injured.
The Grand Am was then spotted again a short time later in the neighborhood east of the 7-Eleven. Officers pursued the driver, and after a short chase, the suspect left the car and ran. The suspect then tried to hop a fence and was captured by an officer. The suspect fractured hand during the struggle with the officer. Officers arrested the man and took him to jail, where he is being held on $50,000 bond for aggravated robbery.
Investigators are still looking for the first suspect.
