Off-duty officer confronts two robbers

DENVER - Police say an off-duty Denver Police officer confronted two men during a robbery attempt at a drugstore Thursday afternoon. It happened at the Walgreens at Green Valley Ranch and Tower Road.

 When the two men jumped the counter to rob the pharmacy, a female officer pulled her weapon to stop them.

One of the suspects attacked her and wrestled her gun away.

A shot was fired during the struggle but no one was hurt.

One of the suspects left the store, drove across the street and carjacked a driver at a Grease Monkey. Both men got away in separate vehicles.

A description of the suspects has not been released.
