DENVER -Traveling to, from or across Colorado on Saturday may be easier as roads open and flights resume.

9NEWS spoke to the Colorado Department of Transportation about road conditions on Saturday. Interstate 70 reopened from Airpark Road to the Kansas state line after being closed for about a day, and several other highways and roads across the state are reopening as they were cleared.

Denver International Airport officials say about 600 flights were cancelled due to the snow storm. DIA spokesperson Jenny Schiavone says they are not expecting any more Denver-based cancellations, but flights to and from the east could be cancelled as the storm moves on.

An Amtrak train headed from Salt Lake City to Denver was also delayed for more than nine hours on Saturday due to the storm. Officials say the train was stuck behind several freight cars because the equipment that controls the tracks switches froze. All 100 passengers reached Denver nine hours and one minute behind schedule.
