St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Brian Conklin tallied 16 points and eight
rebounds, as the Saint Louis Billikens claimed a 58-50 win over Dayton in
Atlantic 10 action at Chaifetz Arena.
Kwamain Mitchell added 12 points, and Cody Ellis scored 10 off the bench to
help the Billikens (18-5, 6-3 A-10) to their fifth win over the last six
outings.
Chris Johnson scored 16 points and Kevin Dillard added 11 for the Flyers
(14-9, 4-5), whose season-long losing streak is now at four games.
Dayton shot just 24.1 percent from the floor and went 1-of-11 from beyond the
arc in the first half, as Saint Louis led by as many as 11 late in the period.
The Billikens took a 31-25 lead into the break.
Saint Louis shot just 31.8 percent from the floor in the second half and let
Dayton hang around by missing 12 of its 23 free throws in the frame. However,
the Flyers were unable to capitalize as they shot a mere 7-of-28 from the
floor over the final 20 minutes.
Dayton made only 14 field goals for the game (.246) and went 4-of-24 from
beyond the arc. Dillard came up limping in the final minute and had to be
helped off the floor and into the locker room.
