Flagstaff, AZ (Sports Network) - Charles Odum paced five teammates in double
figures in scoring with 20 points as the Portland State Vikings beat the
Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 76-65 in a Big Sky Conference tilt at Rolle
Activity Center.
Michael Harthun scored 12 points and Chehales Tapscott netted 11 for Portland
State (11-12, 5-6 Big Sky). Nate Lozeau and Renado Parker each pitched in 10
points for the Vikings, who halt a three-game losing streak.
For Northern Arizona (5-19, 1-11), Ephraim Ekanem tallied 14 points and
Gaellan Bewernick recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
James Douglas scored 12 points and Michael Dunn chipped in 11 for the
Lumberjacks, who have now lost 11 straight games.
Portland State shot 51.4 percent in the first half to get out to a 41-26 lead
at the break. Northern Arizona connected on just 11-of-29 from the floor in
the frame.
The Vikings never let their lead dip below eight points after halftime.
Northern Arizona hit just 2-of-9 from three-point range and committed 15
turnovers.
