The dog, known as Iceman to the Denver Animal Shelter, is doing well after his accidental icy swim near Sheridan Boulevard and West 46th Avenue.
Iceman was rescued by firefighters after he fell through the ice. Rescuers say by the time they reached the pup, he was having a hard time holding his head above water. He was taken to Alameda East Veterinary Hospital and treated for hypothermia.
Rescuers say Iceman had a red-and-white nylon collar on when he was rescued, but no tags.
If Iceman is not claimed by his owner by Friday, he will go through some testing and be evaluated for adoption. The Denver Animal Shelter says if all goes well, Iceman could be available for adoption by Saturday.
For more information on adopting Iceman, call 311 or 720-913-1311.
