This performance of Peter Pan, from choreographer Michael Pink and composer Philip Feeney, features new choreography, new sets, new musical score and features singing by the Colorado Children's Chorale. And yes, there is flying.

Peter Pan is being performed at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and runs through Mar. 4.

Not only are the arts good entertainment, they are good for the local economy.

According to the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts, performing arts has a $1.5 billion in economic and social impact on the community.

Gil Boggs is the artistic director of the Colorado Ballet. He says the arts also impact other businesses.

"You go to the ballet, you want to go downtown, you want to have dinner, you want to take the kids out and show them a wonderful evening there," Boggs said. "It employs lots of people."
