It's part of their inaugural "Be a Champion in the Community Week."

They dedicated a full week starting last Saturday to community service. Players and staff visited with kids at the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, helped out at the Ronald McDonald House, volunteered at the Denver Rescue Mission and many other service things. They're also helping Habitat for Humanity build four homes for four deserving families. The families live in Lakewood, Aurora and northeast Denver.

Three Broncos players along with volunteers are in the beginning stages of building the Denver homes - something that will take two months.

Broncos defensive end Jeremy Beal says he's volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity in the past but it never gets old.

"It feels good to be out there. Giving back to the community is what we love to do," Beal said. "We met the families and gave them a house warming gift, and they are out here working with us. That's the cool thing about it is that they don't just sit inside, they're actually out here with us too."

Fans are encouraged to continue "Paying it Forward" and get involved in their community. Below are some of the ways you can get involved:

  1. Sign-up for the C.H.A.M.P. Camp, a two-day non-contact football camp at All City Stadium in Denver, which strives to instill the core values of Character, Heart, Attitude, Motivation and Pride through football fundamentals instruction and a variety of guest speakers delivering messages on life skills and the importance of making good decisions. Open to ALL students ages 10-17 (www.Heartpowerinc.org).
  2. Make a donation to FoodWorks Colorado at www.foodworkscolorado.org to help support its vocational training program and to build needed Combo Packs. As an added incentive, they will offer a free Nourish/Be A Champion in the Community T-shirt to anyone donating $100 or more from June 2 to 9.
  3. Tell us how you are going to "Be a Champion in the Community" June 2-9 and you can win two tickets to the Broncos vs. Seahawks preseason game on Aug. 18, including the chance to be on the field for a pregame ceremony to accept a jersey from a Broncos player!
