Steve McHugh and Antonio Palazzola are experienced traders known as the 'Barter Kings.' McHugh and Palazzola are best friends and have been business partners for over 25 years. McHugh, the "nice guy," maintains the trading strategy.

"Never talk people into anything... stay silent and wait for them to make the first offer," McHugh said. McHugh's success at bartering gives him a few extra thousand dollars a week, giving him more time to spend with his family.

Antonio Palazzola is described as a "junk man's son," with most of his time spent on perfecting his trading skills. His two rules of thumb are, "Never bring cash to a trade," and "Never feel guilty walking away with the better item." Although Palazzola was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome as a child, he is still known as one of the best trading entrepreneurs in the business.

They say the business of bartering is becoming a popular, $12 billion industry. McHugh and Palazzola know the market well and are able to negotiate items of similar value, even trading multiple times before obtaining the item they desire, all without using cash. The value of these items is subjective and is determined by the traders.
