The fire is burning near Lake George. It is 39 percent contained as of Wednesday evening.

More than 300 firefighters are battling the blaze. Tuesday, a structure protection group was put in place.

Although threatened, no structures have been destroyed as of Tuesday morning.

More than 200 people are out of their homes due to the fire. The evacuation order for the fire extends west into Park County to the Eleven Mile State Park and reaches east into Teller County and south of Highway 24.

Among the evacuated are some Boy Scouts attending summer camp at Camp Alexander in Lake George. They all got out safely and spent the night at Woodland Park High School and Middle School.

The rest of Lake George is on standby to evacuate, depending on what the fire does on Monday.

11-Mile Canyon Recreation Area is closed. Road closures are in effect on 11-mile Canyon Road (CR 96), CR 61, CR 98, and CR 403.

Investigators are looking into reports that someone was spotted shooting at a propane tank, which allegedly caused an explosion.
