It was an early taste of college. Bayfield graduate Katherine Rifilato recently played at the All-State games on the campus of Adams State University. This will be her home gym next year as a freshman.
"It was fun, I like getting a feel for the court," she told 9News.
Rifilato broke her school record for aces in a season, and career. She'll now bring that big serve to Alamosa, where she'll play with a familiar face, her older sister.
"She called me and said so guess what happened, and I'm like what? Your coach just called me? And I was all, what," sister Gabriella said emphatically.
And although Gabriella didn't pressure her younger sister, Katherine chose Adams State.
"It's going to be really fun because we used to be double partners when we were young and stuff and all the teams we've been on together have been really successful so hopefully we'll have another good season," said Katherine.
"Ih I'm super excited we played together in high school for 2 years and I mean we just get eachother, we understand how eachother plays," Gabriella told 9News.
2 years together in high school, and now 2 more in college.
