They were brought on a tour of a burnt out community along Larimer County Road 29C.

For the most part, firefighters were able to save the homes along the roadway - aside from one, which was too difficult to stop.

"It came down a ridge right to the south of this location," said Patrick Love with the Poudre Fire Authority.

Love was one of the firefighters who battled the blaze last Sunday.

"It [the fire] was almost laying the flame front down horizontal," he said.

After the tour of 29C, Reporters were brought in to the Poudre Canyon. It's there where they saw another damaged home.

"Basically when a fire comes through the area it can be the smallest ember that catches on almost on anything," Love said.

Perhaps the most startling fact firefighters told us had to do with the recovery time. When asked how long it will take for things to get back to normal, firefighters said at least a generation.

"Most of us will be dead before things look the way they used to," said Love.
