Two separate Ticketmaster glitches simultaneously blocked American Homebrewers Association and Brewers Association members from purchasing tickets online, while non-members were allowed to skirt requirements through Ticketmaster's mobile site.
Beer aficionados poured out their anger on social media, dubbing it 'Ticketdisaster' and charging that members were being passed over in favor of ticket scalpers.
"We deeply regret the technical issues that Ticketmaster experienced this morning during the GABF member ticket pre-sale," the American Homebrewers Association posted on its Facebook page.
The AHA pledged to work with Ticketmaster to void tickets to the Saturday afternoon members-only session and develop a system to sell those recouped tickets to members.
The Great American Beer Festival, held annually in Denver since 1984, features thousands of beers from hundreds of breweries and draws attendees from around the country and even internationally.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday. Last year, all sessions sold out in a week.
