Peterson said he would immediately cancel class if a student brings a firearm in the room, whether it was concealed or not.
This comes on the heels of a recent state supreme court ruling that allows students with concealed weapon permits to carry guns onto college campuses.
Although CU Boulder must comply with the ruling, the university made a controversial decision last week that banned guns from undergraduate dormitories.

The Rocky Mountain Gun Owners Association says they'll be monitoring CU's gun policy throughout the year.
