Fire officials have tentatively scheduled a news conference for Wednesday. 9NEWS has previously reported that the fire was human caused.
9Wants to Know has learned fire investigators do not have any leads in the search for a suspect.
That is one of the reasons fire officials are unlikely to give the exact cause of the fire Wednesday.
Investigators want to hold back some information. When someone calls with tips, those tips can be more easily vetted if only a few people know the exact cause.
Sources tell 9Wants to Know that fire investigators are not sure whether the person or people who started the fire meant for it to harm anyone or burn homes.
In addition to the two people who died in the fire and the homes burned, 18,000 acres burned in the Waldo Canyon Fire.
