A passerby reported smoke coming from the roof of Tequila's Mexican Restaurant on South Golden Road just after 1 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting from the roof.

Four different fire departments worked the fire for several hours.

The fire was in the roof, making it unsafe to fight from inside.

Crews worked the fire from outside and cut through the building with chainsaws to access the flames.

The cause of the fire is unknown. It will be several days before investigators can get inside to determine the cause.

No injuries were reported, but the restaurant is a total loss.
