Denver Broncos' Barrel Man honored at museum

He was the Barrel Man - the superfan who spent 30 years rooting for the Broncos while wearing an orange barrel and trademark cowboy boots.

Through all kinds of weather - hot, cold - and through all kinds of games - wins or losses - the Barrel Man led the cheering.

He retired from wearing the barrel in 2007 and passed away in 2009.

Now, McKernan is being honored as part of a new exhibit at the History Colorado Center called Denver A to Z.

McKernan's widow - Becky - joined 9NEWS on Friday to talk about the statue.
