The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon and has burned more than 1,742 acres.

As of Wednesday morning, there was no containment line around the fire. About 160 firefighters are fighting this blaze.

Winds were a problem Tuesday night as gusts topped 50 mph. A similar wind speed is in store for that area on Wednesday.

Ralph Bellah with the Wetmore Fire Department says it is unknown at this time how many structures have burned, however officials said on Tuesday that at least 14 structures were damaged. Officials said they will have a better damaged-structure count Wednesday evening.

There are no injuries reported at this time. Officials evacuated at least 350 residents in Wetmore Tuesday evening. Evacuees were sent to Southern Baptist Church in Florence.

Colorado Highway 96 is closed to westbound traffic at the Lake Pueblo entrance.

It is unknown at this time how the fire started.
