Chris Fox plays one of the most physical position in all of sports.

So you might be surprised to hear how the 6'5'' offensive lineman describes himself.

"I'm a big teddy bear," Fox told 9News.

Treat others how you would like to be treated. That's how Fox operates.

But wait, I'm sure the defensive linemen he constantly throws to the ground aren't exactly looking to be treated that way.

"I have no friends when I play football," Fox said with a smile.

Fox is able to flip the switch on the field. The Michigan recruit is straight mean to his opponents, but can go right back to being a teddy bear.

"Even after I knock someone to the dirt I'll help them up. But when that whistle blows, watch out," he said.

That intensity is a big reason why Fox was honored by the U.S. Army All-American bowl. The senior will play in the all-star game down in Texas this January.

"It's a great way to represent myself, my family, my school, my town of Parker," said Fox.

A major national bowl game, a verbal commitment to play at Michigan, and his Ponderosa Mustangs are one of two undefeated 4A teams in the state.

"I had no idea I was going to get all this. It's such an honor, I've worked my butt off to get here. I couldn't have done it without the people around me," he said.

Fox will soon turn his attention to the state football playoffs. Where he hopes to prove that sometimes nice guys can finish first.
