9NEWS viewers may remember "King James" as he was known from a story by our former colleague Adam Schrager in 2004, which featured James Fisher's unique musical style and positive outlook on life in spite of the many challenges he faced.
The biggest challenge was homelessness, which James struggled with throughout his later years. In spite of that he continued to play his blues music on the streets of Denver for whoever was lucky enough to walk by and hear it.
Lester Fisher is James' brother and says he died due to complications from diabetes.
Since James was homeless he didn't leave any resources behind to cover the cost of his funeral and remains. If you're interested in helping, Lester's phone number is 720-621-1834.
We've included links her to both Adam Schrager's original 2004 feature on James Fisher as well as update by TaRhonda Thomas.
