The Transportation Security Administration says it's important for travelers to be conscious of what they're packing in their carry-on luggage. Items that are not allowed on the plane, but can be checked include cranberry sauce, gravy, jams, salad dressing, salsa, snowglobes, wine, beer, liquor, any gift baskets with food, and maple syrup. They are also encouraging passengers not to wrap gifts before going through security because TSA officials might need to inspect them.

For people driving to the airport, officials say the economy lot fills up the quickest, but Pikes Peak or Mt. Elbert shuttle lots are one alternative. Travelers can also park in the East and West terminal garages for twenty-one dollars a day.
