The ad,, is scheduled to air local newscasts, targeting viewers of the Thanksgiving Day Parade and football games this weekend.

It's part of an six-figure ad buy in multiple states aimed at influencing negotiations over the impending budget crisis known as the "fiscal cliff."

Colorado's 30-second spot is targeted toward Colorado's US Senators Michael Bennet and Mark Udall, both Democrats, urging them to continue support for "jobs not cuts."

The union groups argue that voters supported President Obama in November because of his message that wealthy taxpayers should contribute more - and that the role of government should be protected.
